Hi
Looking for cheap Netbook or alternative.
I currently have a 8.9" early Acer One running XP upgraded to 1.5GB and with the original rubbish SSD switched out for a 1.8" 40GB HDD.
It's just about passable for web browsing and running VAG-COM (auto diagnostics). Screen resolution of 1024 x 600 is just a little too small for most browsers and Iplayer etc isn't smooth.
I've been looking at second user netbooks or small form factor laptops, budget around £150 - £200 with 11-12" screen @ 1366x768
AMD E-350 seems ok - lenovo s205
Intel 2700U with 4500M possible Toshiba T110
or older core 2 duo 1.6 - 2.0 machine lenovo X60s / x61s which then allow some budget for a replacement battery. I have a spare 2.5" 120GB HDD or may switch for a hybrid drive so drive isn't an issue.
Usage is mainly Iplayer, Sky Go etc, surfing on the sofa and chucking into a bag for the weekend. Doesn't need to be flash or shiny, battery life of a few hours. Would be great if it could cope with some older games, quake or something a little more recent. Have an I5 desktop for everything else.
Very few notebooks seem to have discrete graphics hence the E-350 option.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks
