Ironically I managed to get 900/120 from Plusnet a few months back for £41.99! Worth giving them a call and see what they can do before jumping ship?

will do as I'm going to calling them this week
i should be on 80 MB line (last 6 months on 40 for some reason)
and i will ask them about putting me back on 80 and see what prices they can do

one good thing about plusnet is you can get a static ip from them for a one off fee but it's annoying how you have to speak to them each time for them to give a competitive price

Usually with plusnet
First I note down other isp offers
Phone plusnet
Go straight for the am thinking of leaving option
Get through to retention department
Haggle with them
Tell them what others are offering (they do check this)
Get my new deal :)

I find it easier just to go with a different ISP thats offering a better deal to start with.

If I didn't already have an isp
Then definitely
But switching isp (assuming it's not going to cost you rest of contract fees too)
Sometimes doesn't go smoothly
So I would rather haggle a new better deal
Than switch if possible
Switching goes OK in the majority of cases
But had it once before go badly wrong
Lead to God knows how many frustrating hours on the phone
And several weeks of no home Internet

Rather than a better deal
Wish I could get better speeds
Frustrating I can see all the open reach cabinets
100 yards away
But our phone lines are underground and no one seems
To want the bother of fttp with them :(

Another reason I like to stick with them where possible, £5 and done. I only left them 2 years back for Zen because at the time they was not offering FTTP.
