Hey peeps, i've been searching through the forums and still none the wiser.

My current Linksys WRT 54GT and modem combo is slowly dying. Running Tomato on it and it's still playing up. Wifi connectivity is feeble and firewall keeps blocking my xbox from connecting to my desktop for streaming. Reboots seem to help a little but not for long.

I'm not complaining as it's lasted a good while and the tweaks have been awesome.

I'm searching for another good purchase that will last a few years and don't mind investing a hundred or so pounds.

Please don't recommend me a Netgear as i simply just don't like them :)

Don't mind Linksys, Draytek or Billion (though never tried them before). Anything else I might have missed?

What models are people currently raving about?

Need this ASAP as we are trying to do some skype interviews and our laptop
wifi is unusable.

Cheers

Adam

D-Link DIR models seem to be quite popular. The DIR-615 router is available for peanuts from the popular auction site and depending on the version you can put DD-WRT on it (sadly not Tomato though :( )

The DIR-635 and 655 are supposed to be good too!
