Hi guys,

I'm after a well built yet small keyboard. Just something thats sufficient to type the odd MSN message on, etc etc. Will be connected to a laptop docking station.

I dont want something that feels cheap and flimsey but neither do I want to spend a fortune on this either, wondering if such a thing exists? Wireless would be nice but I'd rather have a nice solid wired one than a cheapo wireless one :)

Thanks!

No we use our hugely advanced brains to connect to our computers using psychic energy. :p

Now to your question, as you know we're limited to what we can link you to forum rules and all that so the 2 option OcUK provide are these:

which is rather expensive. Or:

(seems to be 2 versions of this a mini or a compact only difference seems to be key layout)

Also do you need the number pad or not? If on the other hand you do wish to keep the numberpad perhaps:

Also dell do a fairly compact version (with num pad) but i'm not a fan, however my brother swears by it. The apple keyboard is also rather compact.

This probably isn't much help as i'm sure you've seen all these and i have no experience with small keyboards to recommend any of these on a personal level so perhaps just pick one that takes your fancy and take the plunge.

Ohhh and before i forget there is a microsoft keyboard that has a detachable number pad or perhaps it's an extra add on that's out there somewhere but for the life of me i can't remember the model number.

Nope definately dont want a numberpad. It's just to provide me with basic functionality so I can use MSN etc on my laptop connected to my secondary screen on a docking station whilst I'm running full screen applications on my main machine using the primary display.

Lenovo do a good compact keyboard, it's a desktop version of their Thinkpad keyboard ...it has a trackpoint too. It's called "Lenovo ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint" ...they are about £50 though, or you can just by a copact Keysonic for abotu £15.

This looks like a pretty decent keyboard. Its wireless, small and as you would expect from a logitech keyboard - good quality.

It also seems to boast a 3 year battery life - which is somewhat insane.

Here are a couple of reviews : [1] [2]

Unfortunately it is currently out of stock on the OCUK store.

You could get the Apple Wireless keyboard with no numpad? around £30 i think and from my use in the apple store it seems a really good keyboard.....
