want to a modest surround sound setup but don't want to be paying hundreds of pounds for it.

Can anyone recommend me a decent AV amp that can be picked up around the £100 mark on the bay please?

What specific features do you require? If you don't need HDMI video switching or mind about the latest surround formats/network connectivity you'd get an older but much better amp sonically. If you need more bells and whistles then you'll have to go newer, but sacrifice on sound quality.

Make this decision and then go for the usual suspects like Denon, Yamaha, Sony and Onkyo. For £100 you really just need to keep looking around until something takes your fancy rather than waiting for a specific amp to come up.

Thanks. I wanted a 5.1 amp with 4+ HDMI inputs that can play hi def audio formats. Nothing overly special. Movies more important than music.
