I have decided to invest in a new soundcard and headset corsair hs60 for better sound experience.
Currently i'm using onboard sound on asus motherboard, its okay, but I'm sure I could do better
I use my PC for gaming/streaming and music/videos
Budget not a issue, but like £200-£300
I was looking at the Creative Soundblaster ZE with an AKG K702 headset.
Microphone i'm happy with my Blue Yeti, which is USB plugin.

Forget Sound Blaster Z, it's nowadays overpriced for headphone output quality.
And especially for rather power and current hungry AKGs it isn't good.
(impedance tells little about how demanding headphones are)

External Sound BlasterX G6 has far superior headphone output and Creative's B-stock price is very bang for the buck £75.

If you prioritize gaming high, also external Sound Blaster X3 with customizable HRTF would be other option. (B-stock £80)
With also headphone profile for K701 (which is K702 with fixed cable) it would likely give very good sound directionality/positioning for games and movies.
Though headphone output quality is in between.

Asus Essence ST / STX / STX II

Discontinued but still some of the best consumer sound cards ever made, can be picked up pre-owned. Did once own a Creative Soundblaster Titanium HD that I sold as the Essence has a more natural / analogue sound that I preferred over the Creative.

The original Essence ST is the bargain if your board has legacy PCI.

Last week I bought a Sound Blaster X4 with the EPOS H6PRO open back headphones and I have to say the sound quality, to a non audiophile like me, is a huge step up from onboard audio.

Would a DT 770 Pro 250ohm be able to handle okay with a G6?
SBX G6 will laugh and ask for some more.
Beyers aren't really power hungry and hence current draw will be small and providing voltage is easy thing.
SB X3 and X4 wouldn't have as much voltage reserve.

I have a G6 and it easily powered AKG702s. I now have Beyerdynamic DT1770 pros. The 1770s are easier to power than the 702s despite being 250Ω instead of 62Ω

Microphone I also had a Blue Yeti, however it was terrible at picking up keyboard and mouse noise instead of my voice. I swapped it from a V-Moda Boom pro which fits to the headphone using as mini XLR to 3.5mm adapter

If you do get the G6, I would recommend getting Dolby Atmos from the Microsoft Store then enable Dolby Atmos for headphones. Setup should look like this
