Just had a failure of one of my sticks of 512MB Ballistix PC4000 (was B grade stock from OcUK about 6 months ago :( )

I thought, oh well, I'll just make do with the remaining stick until I upgrade my whole system in about 8 - 10 months time...and then I tried to play Oblivion.

So, no, I can't make do with one stick, I need another.

I've thought about getting rid of the other stick and getting 2Gb, or simply getting another stick of 512 and hope it dual channels ok. I tempted to do the latter 'cos it's cheaper, and I'm quite happy with performance with 1Gb

Given that I want the ram to run 230 @ 2.5,3,3,11 on the same volts as my remaining Ballistix (2.7v), what are my options?

I'm not being lazy by asking, it's just that every time I look at the shop, it reminds me of standing in the washing powder aisle in Asda...overwhelming choice, in fact so much it's difficult remember I have a mind to make a choice inthe first place

Mmm read Gibbo's reply in Lost Prophets thread - sounds ugly on the future price front for DDR

TIA

Wow, an even cheaper option!

I don't pay much attention to warranties when I buy stuff - I tend to assume that it either works 100% on day one, and will continue to do so indefinitely, or fails and goes back immediately (apart from 2 x 1Gb sticks of Ballistix that is)

I assumed that it being B grade, it didn't come with anything other than a 14 day return period - I'll check out the lifetime warranty stuff

Thanks

Pipe
