Hi Guys,

I currently have the original BK Gemini II sub in black. Looking for a refresh as black does not go with my new decor.

What alternatives are there available in white? Ideally a compact size.

Cheers

Well, there's the Gemini II in a different colour :p

If you're looking to upgrade then all the Bk subs are available in a number of finishes. The xls200's arent much bigger than the gemini II:)

Compact means you want a sealed sub, so for a upgrade you're looking at 12". Unfortuantly subs are big, the better you want the bigger they are

What about BK XLS400?
You haven't listed budget.

For high end these two

Those are mega compact subs lol

Also SVS SB2000?

Be aware pros and cons of sealed & ported. From my own experience, for music and smaller room I'd go sealed. For larger room and for movies go ported. A good sealed will function fine in a larger room for music and movies, but you need a much better sub, for example where a SVS PB Ultra 16 is pumping along fine at loud levels, in movies, in a larger room, the similar (same driver and amp) SVS SB Ultra 16 may struggle a bit. I've had both sealed and ported subs. Currently use a SVS SB12+ and SVS SB Ultra 13.

i think you guys are getting carried away.

Photoshop, what's your limit for budget and size? the xls200 is a bit more of everything but it's not a massive step up. The xxls400 is a good improvement however, probably the best sub around for the money.

xtz 12.17 :)
A sealed sub with same driver will be smaller though.

And yet vented it's still smaller, granted only just, than the sb16ultra. The sb16ultra is a 50cm cube, it's not at all small and surely it's way bigger than the stuff photoshop is looking at.

That doesn't change the size of the box lol.

Well you wouldn't fit a 16" driver in a 12" cube box, and if you were to compared two subs of the same driver size, the ported version would be bigger. So of course the XTZ with 12" even if ported is still smaller than a monster sealed box 16" or 18"

As for OP for upgrade from Gemini I'd get the best BK sealed box sub they have- which is the XLS400

Rather than start a new thread, and as this one's full of subwoofer experts...

Do you turn yours off when not in use? Wondering whether I should or not, obviously easier not to have to reach down and turn it on and off all the time.

My sub is behind the sofa and the switch cant be reached all that easy so i have the sub plugged into a TP- link smart plug and i turn it on and off via the amazon echo.

But i do turn it on for a hour before i use it as its a old sub (rel-Q-bass) but its got a brand new speaker in it from bk electronics.

Does go deep :)
