Recommend me a Telly

In about a month or so, I'm going to be redecorating the living room and have decided to splash out on a big TV.
I was looking at 32'' lcd but after seeing 40'' plasmas in Dixons I've decided bigger is better.
I know the Samsung 32'' lcd are popular at the moment. Is the 40'' LCD Samsung any good ? - or are the Samsung 40'' plasma any good ?

I've got Telewest, and have a budget of about £1,200. Won't be using it for XBox360 or PC monitor - just TV and watching DVD's.

Anyone got any recommendations/know of good deals ?

Its the wrong time to buy right now, new compact crts are comming out with a better picture than lcd and plasmas, plus you want hdmi connection for hd tv.
 
I have the 40" Samsung m61 Milano 2 and I think it's a fantastic unit, but it's downfall is it's pretty pricey at the moment as it's their top of the range LCD. However 2k is probably cheap when you consider most decent 42" plasmas are that and more.
