Are wide screen monitors any better than normal ones? Or is wide screen just for looks or something ? Maybe I'm missing the point...

I only have a 7600GT graphics card so I wont really be able to play massive resolutions on games. I just want a TFT for looks really, and to save a bit of space.

But I must say, that one posted above looks really nice. :)

Sorry to barge in, but is the Asus the best 19" WS you can get? I was waiting for the N91 to come back in stock but god knows whats happening with that.

Umm.... I have no clue, I just go by what everyone else says lol ! This forum seems pretty trusty. :)

The Hyundai N91W is a great monitor by all accounts and beats the Asus hands down from what i've read. Unless you must have a monitor NOW, I would say it was worth waiting till it comes back in stock (either at OCUK or elsewhere) as it seems a killer of a monitor for the price.

:)

Any idea how much it's costing ?? Can't seem to find it on OcUK.

So, about the wide screen TFT's.... Whats the difference ?

Like I say, I only have a 7600GT graphics card so I wont be able to have massively high screen resolutions... Do games support wide screen mode etc..?

Thanks.

Hey guys.

Just been to OcUK to buy the monitor, plugged it in and tested it, they looked like to me as if there were 2 dead pixels on the screen, how ever, when I moved away from the screen the dead pixels seemed the disappear ....

I'm not too bothered about it though as they were hardly noticeable....

Thanks.

Bad luck. Do you have the Asus screen? If so, it has 1 year ZBD (zero bright dot) warranty.

I wouldn't expect 2 tiny pixels to be that visible when you stand some distance from the screen. A pixel is a very tiny thing after all. Depends what colour the screen is and if they are actually dead or just stuck. A stuck pixel will change colour depending on the screen colour, whereas a dead one will be black all the time. Stuck ones can be fixed (not always though) with tools like this - http://www.jscreenfix.com/

:)

Does the ZBD warranty mean that I'm covered for dead pixels?

Thanks !

I would hope so but I don't know, I've never had an Asus screen, but I suggest you call them direct on 0870 120 8340 and tell them what the problem is and see what they say. Let me know how you get on...

:)

Thanks, like I say I'm not too bothered about it. I've dropped the monitor off back at my brothers house so I can't try it again now.

When I go to pick it up again I'll have another good look, but like I say, I'm not too bothered about it.... They looked to be really tiny and red.

If they do appear to be stuck, I'll try that tool in that link you gave me, if that doesn't work, I'll ring that number. :)

Thanks.
