Hi guys

I use x2 Blackgold TV cards (x2 DVB-T, x2 DVB-T2) and I wondered what would be the best software to use them with?

I used to use Windows Media Centre but it really doesn't like that combination of cards it seems and often didn't record or forgot how many tuners were there.

Also if it recorded Freeview HD the WTV HD files that were created couldn't be edited - Windows couldn't even convert them to DVR-MS?!?

What program would you recommend, especially for HD footage?
I've been looking at MythTV but I'm open to suggestions!

Thanks! :D

Have tried most of them including MediaPortal but always come back to using NPVR (was GB-PVR). Simple and very stable. MediaPortal etc. generally have more features and add-ons but I prefer the simpler solution. Works great with my Blackgold BGT3620 DVB-T2 card alongside a Hauppauge card.
It is quite quick to try both (both free) and you will soon decide which you prefer.

Excellent, thanks for the posts guys!

NPVR, that's right, I'd forgotten about that! I did try and use it some time ago but seemed to have trouble getting the tuners to be detected by the software.

I'll have to give it another try.

Media Portal sounds good as well, I'll have to give them both a try.

Thanks! :D

I used to use GB PVR , and did for years
I found NPVR to be a pain in the a55 , so gave up on it until he gets it working better

Only reason I switched to mediaportal was the trouble I had configuring NPVR

i have no knowledge of tuner cards.

Why do you use them? is it that you dont get sky on your normal tv? or what ?

Main reason is ease of use
I have a media PC in the living room attached via HDMI to a receiver then into plasma tv

I have 2 x S2 Freesat sat card
and 1 x Nova-T 500 usb freeview

I can watch , pause schedule recordings etc
I can also record up to 6 channels simultaneously per tuner device

I can also watch any video or listen to any mp3 in my collection

All from one remote :)
