recommend me a web gallery

Simplegal is nice and simple, Gallery is nice and powerful; both are nice and easy to use though Simplegal is a couple of configuration and permission settings and that's it :)
 
oh dear!

created few new folders in galleries folder. now i cant remove them at all, FTP to my webspace, still cant delete/remove the folders!

any folders outside simplegal folder are working fine.

bug?
 
ive had that problem before so your not alone although i cant completly remeber how i got rid of them ive got a feeling i used my webspaces online cpanel and deleted them using the file manager
 
It's not a bug...Simplegal creates thumbnails which are owned by the webserver user, and it seems the webserver runs under its own username - do Dreamhost have an online file manager? Try using that if they do, as it'll have more permissions.

If not, send in a support ticket and they should be able to sort it out for you :)
 
well, i think the problem started when i created a new gallery folder called "colin's house" then uploaded few pics. the title of the folder was changed to "colin/s house" no idea why

yeah i've sent dreamhost an email.

I have removed the pic folder and you should be set to go. Normally if
you are unable to remove a folder, there is a .htaccess file within the
folder that needs to be removed first. However, I have deleted the pic
folder as requested and you should be set to go.

duh! didnt know there was a .htaccess file. :o
