Recommend me a webhost...

I am looking for a webhost that supports mySQL and PHP and uses cPanel with options for automatic script installations of popular scripts such as Wordpress or Gallery 2.0. I am also intending to host images and videos on the site so I would like a host which also offers plenty of bandwidth at a reasonable price. Any suggestions?

ivaluehost.com - very cheap and its a great service. Comes with everything you asked for.

OC Host Review is worth a look. It may not tell you which site meets your requirements, but it will sort the good from the bad.

You're much better off with a UK host in terms of speed and latency.

As above. Plus the fact that most (if not all the sites on ochostreview) are related to OcUK forum members in one way or another.

Yes, I have used them before for all different sort of sites and they have never let me down. They are friendly, fast and cheap.

Nah, not that many - I'm not sure about most, but the top 5 definitely are

I had a look at it but they UK site just can seem to compete with the US ones in terms of bandwidth and storage. The ivalue host seems pretty damn good.

It's just a numbers game - the market is so competitive, hosts have to be seen to be offering 'more' than the competition. Do you need that kind of storage/bandwidth? If not, quality > quantity

may i say, Vidahost are brilliant!

had nothing but friendly and helpful support from them whenever i've needed it, and i happen to have quite an erratic sleep pattern. So imagine my suprise when i message a staff member at like 4am, and still recieve a response :eek:

Dooooooo it :cool:

Disclaimer: i'm sure they aren't always on at 4am, but still was mightily impressed
