recommend me a wedding photographer

Hi all,

I am getting married in august 2009. Does anyone know of a good wedding photographer in the midlands (nottingham).

Any suggestions welcome, i am trawling the internet and so far I am rather unimpressed at sample pics etc.

Eeekkkk yuk, what's what all that selective colour rubbish, he seems to use it all over the place without really thinking about it.

I think they are fine , but then this place does have a strange idea of what is good and what isn't :confused:

. Seems his CLIENTS prefer his photography to use him thats more important than OCUK photography members

Wedding photography is a bit of a minefield at the minute, so many bad amateurs who've just picked up a 400D and set them self up as wedding togs! I'd try and get a recomendation from a friend and I'd never make a booking based on small sample pictures on the web to easy to make them look better than the full size origionals.

Agreed, most good togs will come round to your house and show you different sets of photos. We spent ages going through albums before we picked a tog

Go to a local wedding fayre if there is one. Thats where we've got ours from, he's not the cheapest but his work stood head and shoulders above the others we saw and we also picked his most expensive package.

I used David Boulogne from 2 exposures for my wedding. Heavy reportage style. Cost about a grand and gave me all the prints and negs at the end (but I think he shoots digi now). He said he hates dealing with reprints

Superb results.

Slightly OT, but is this because people don't praise your pictures here?

I tend to use this forum to gauge whether a photo is any good or not, people are far more honest here and are generally not scared of hurting your feelings.

Also tend to get more of an in depth answer than "great shot"

Anyway, sorry about the OT, carry on

thanks for the suggestions chaps. So far i have been completely dissapointed with samples and friends albums etc. Like people say, its all to easy to pick up a 400d and charge well over a grand!

I'm based in London, as is David but he will travel. Our wedding was in Spain and he came over for that so I'm sure he will travel to Notts

If you do speak to him you can say that Guy Boden recommended him, you never know, he might give you a discount! You can but ask

if i could afford a wedding worth photographing (haha) - i'd be calling on 'the image is found' - these guys take the most beautiful photos, and if you're spending serious money on a day you want to remember for ever, i'm sure getting them across here would be more than worth the money

I actually really like the style of photography they have there! Seems to portray a bit more feeling and emotion across.

Oh man, I've been looking around for wedding galleries just like this to get inspiration from and with 3 weddings coming up in the next few months I will be getting major inspiration from that site, absolutely amazing!
