Recommend me a wireless router

Hi, i know literally squat about routers and everything, so I'm after a bit of advice. What i want is a wireless router to plug into my PC which will give me wireless internet on my laptop. The laptop will be a maximum distance of around 20m away from the router (through a few brick walls).

I have an NTL cable modem (Terayon), i'm guessing this can plug straight into into the router?

I also have a 360 which currently has a wired connection so i might like to make this wireless in the future.

Can anyone recommend me a wireless router? I really don't know what I should be looking for.

My laptop has a wireless card built in so i'm guessing the router is the only thing I need right?
 
Would i get a decent signal?

The signal will need to travel through the roof in here, then through 2 brickwalls to my bedroom upstairs, around 15-20m away.

3rd party firmware on a WRT54GL will let you raise or lower the transmit power to increase or decrease range as you see it necessary.

Ok just ordered that then. Should be delivered Friday so i'll probably be posting back here again for a little help setting it up :) cheers
