Hi guys,

This is as dangerously close to a 'spec me' thread as I'm ever going to get ;)

Basically I've been learning C# off my own back for the last few months but with work being as busy as ever and with a new baby on the way I haven't had much time, so my boss has offered to send me on a training course.

Now I've looked at a few online and not really seen anything impressive so I wondered if anyone here could recommend a training company or person who they've used and got some good stuff out of.

Something in the Milton Keynes/North London area or thereabouts would be handy, and hopefully not too expensive. A couple of day/week course would be ideal.

Cheers in advance

What level course do you want... there is everything from intro courses, through intermediate to quite advanced. Do you want to learn how to develop web apps in ASP.NET or just the syntax of C# - I would suggest a web apps course; the language you can learn as you go along. If you have any development experience plus some rudimentary C# knowledge, you should concentrate learning about the architecture and
power of the framework rather than the specifics of C# syntac.

Earlier this year I completed an ASP.NET Web Applications course (MS Course No 3201) at Remarc in Leeds (yeah, not in your vicinity I know). It was pretty good - it assumes some basic .NET knowledge, and is done in both VB.NET/C# (ie. take your pick). The course materials were a bit dated, but since then MS have brought the course back in-house and revamped it, including a move from v2.0 to v3.5.

I'm sure a local provider can offer similar and national provides like Parity will certainly have similar courses.
