I own and have enjoyed the following games and am currently looking for a new RTS to keep me occupied for a while:

Command and Conquer (or command and conquerers as my chav mate calls it) Tiberium Wars.

Command and Conquer Red Alert 3

Warcraft 3

Command and Conquer Generals

Battle for Middle Earth

Battle for Middle Earth 2

I don't mind if they're small skirmashes or big battles, the important thing is that they are fun to fight...one other thing...it can't be too slow EG Rome Total War.

Thanks.

id recommend company of heroes + expansion. Imo one of the best rts around. Has decent graphics plus a slightly different style of gameplay but just as fun if not more so.

supreme commander forged alliance. u can just get the expansion and dont need the origanal. the experimental units in it can be awesome. starcraft II should be very good but its made by blizzard so dont expect it out anytime soon. its been put back a few time already.

I got Supreme Commander cheap about a month ago, and was bored silly after about 2 hours. Haven't touched it since, but I can't understand what all the fuss was about. I was like total annihilation with the fun taken out :(

Supreme Commander isn't the sort of game that tries to get you to like it; the campaign just gets steadily bigger and more epic as you go on. The multiplayer can get pretty crazy really; and theres nothing more satisfying than playing LAN, watching your mate grin and say he's going to decimate you... then 'Nuclear Launch Detected'...*BOOOOOOOOOOOOM* goes his super weapon. His grin is replaced by dismay and your grin is even bigger!

Forged Alliance they toned down the nukes though, because you could get crazy in the original. Build 8 silos, and have them all launch in tandem and the destruction was supreme, as most people simply wouldn't have the anti-nuke for 8 simultaneous...and oooh boy it was pretty :D

Back when I played with some workmates, before the tone down, they used to spend more time building nuke defences than anything else, so there were some really interesting wins where I won with a massive ground assault as they'd expected mass nuke whorage :)

It MIGHT be a little slow/large scale for the OP though as he wanted something fast.
