Recommend me antivirus

very interesting thread, makes good reading. been thinking about dumping btnetprotect plus (pretty much mcafee) for some time now as it uses quite a few resources

was gonna switch to MSE, but can anyone tell me if MSE comes with an inbuilt firewall or do i just use windows firewall in conjunction?

Another +1 for Avast free edition, have used it for years.

Though hate the 'virus database has been updated' voice . lol.

I actually like the voice talking to me.

Have a look at this thread mate. My personal preference is Avast however

I've used Avast for years and never had any problems but for some bazaar reason I started using MS Essentials including my daughters laptop.

She got a serious virus last weekend which Essentials didn't pick up yet Avast did.

Avast for the win.

I don't use any AV anymore don't feel the need - maybe one day I will be crying on these forums : D

I used to use AVG though very good free software.

Switched to MSE after I had some issues with the early KAV 2011 versions on Win 7 64-bit. Don't think I'll switch back despite the subscription still running (1-yr)

Seen them all let in virus/tojans...except Kaspersky

Repair computers every week with all the others listed in this thread....wouldn't use any of them no matter what the price.

I highly recommend MSE. I also highly recommend Malwarebytes.

I recommend Kaspersky, It's excellent AV, never had any problems with it at all, its easy to use and doesn't slow your pc down like norton would, lol.
