Recommend me Blackberry Applications

Opera web browser, works better than the default browser except for when entering text fields it's a little obtrusive.

Facebook app if you're into that, gives you updates straight away.

MSN app of course.

I much prefer the original browser, I hate the way the zoom function works incomparison.

I use Viigo which is good for RSS feeds, Google Maps and Vlingo which allows you to do a lot more stuff via voice recognition. Haven't really got round to installing much yet but if you go here on your bold: http://m.crackberry.com/otaapps.html there is a number of free apps available to download directly onto your phone.

Ive got tons of apps on my Bold...depends if you want to pay or dont want to pay...most apps i have i have paid for and they are worth every single penny tbh..you can get trial versions but they run out after a few days then you decide whether to buy or not.

Anyways on my Bold i have the following:
Tetris aka blockberry...its free
Berryweather...weather app, excellent app..not free
Crackberry launcher.....launchs the forums in a mobile version...free as well
Crackberry app store launcher......takes u to the mobile version of the app store on Crackberry...free
Blackberry App world......similar to the iphone/android marketplace apps..free
Quick search with google..
Google synch
Vlingo......voice activated dialling app...costs now but you can get a free version
google maps......we all know what this is
Google Talk
Yahoo, ICQ, AIM and MSN messengers
Shazaam...music tagging app like the iphone one
Blackberry Wallet...keeps all your personal info locked away ie cc, bank details etc
GPS Logger
Aerize Alerts...an app that allows a pop up window for emails, texts or missed calls
BerryBuzz...by far my fave app, allows you to set different colours for your LED notifications and set different reminders...not free but definitely worth the money imho.
London Tube app...quite cool as it pulls up a map of the london underground and also give you updates etc.
Quicklaunch....maps one of your side buttons so that instead of going into menus and sub menus you can set different apps to launch with the press of your side button.
File lock...locks your pics and vids from prying eyes;)
Berry torch...lets you use your BB as a flashlight
Quickpull...lets you do a battery pull without having to take the battery cover off...you can also schedule when you want a battery pull automatically ie i do one every nite at 4am so i wake up with a fresh device every morning.

As for web browsers??..personally i find the standard web browser on my Bold good enough...i tried opera mini and found it to be a pile of stinking dog crap imho...im waiting for skyfire to come out with one for the BB...they are beta testing it at the moment so hopefully it will be out soon.

But those are the ones i run on my Bold and they all run perfectly fine...like i said some are free and some arent.

Your best place and only place for all things BB related is the one in my sig...best place for BB imho and they also have a pretty extensive forum as well...

I have a bb 8310 curve best phone i've ever had.

I wouldnt say the standard web browser was any better then Opera but then dose it not depend on what service provider your with. Mines on T Mobile and that is pritty slow.

I find Opera lot faster and you can disable the zoom function in the set up

Anyway its a phone that works as well as a web browser on the move. Handy when you get boared waiting for what ever reason.

a lot BETTER then the Storm and its problem with handling cell expansion

Guys slightly off topic but how do you enter a word into the dictionary on the phone?

I keep having to spell the words out manually using each letter. Any ideas??

Which BB you got??..if its a full QWERTY keyboard one ie the Curve or Bold ones then they dont support predicative text...if its the Pearl then it must be somewhere in the settings or options to enable it unless it isnt supported.

I wouldnt know as the Bold i have is my first BB ive had....try asking in crackberry im sure there are people there that wil be able to help you.

It's a Pearl so has predictive text, not fully T9 as it only has two characters to a key but similar. You type a letter and it brings up suggestions, normally you'd scroll down the suggestions and be able to input the actual word at the bottom but on this phone there seems to be no where to actual input words you want to use in the future.

Try this: http://blackberry-pearl.net/clean-up-the-suretype-dictionary/

Or theres a free app called Trooper typing, you can download it via your phone browser from here: http://www.mobile.blackberry.com/re.../8100/TrooperTyping.jad&linkID=Typing Trooper

Thanks mate worked it out now.

Is there a "windows explorer" app kind of thing you can get for the blackberry so you can explore folders?

E:\Blackberry from my computer has documents, music, ringtones etc ec but I can't seem to browse to this folder on the blackberry?

Also, I'm wanting to doownload this Black Vista Theme, any ideas how to get it on my blackberry? The OTA Download link just downloads a 2kb "jad" file?

Hmmm could be, dont know really...you might need to email the guy who did the theme or search around and see if you can find the file.

Also you need to make sure that the theme is for the Pearl as it uses a different screen res...a theme for the storm for instance wont work on anything other than the Storm.

Try looking through here for more themes: http://zachthezman84.wordpress.com/
