Hi di hi.

I'm building a new system, iv'e got a GA-P35-DS3L motherboard, and im going to get 4gb of RAM.

I can't decide on a CPU, but a friend has highly recomended the P2180, saying its great for overclocking.

I mainly use my pc for internet, games, and as a stereo.

Would it be worth pushing the 100 quid mark? and what CPU would you recommend me?

Thanks!

In my and many other eyes if your going to overclock there is only 2 choises.

An E21XX or a Q6600 GO. The Q6600 GO is definitly worth the money as they overclock well and you get 4 cores. But new ones are coming out in january. Which will overclock further, or so it is beleived. Im just going to get a Q6600.

:EDIT:

Its been shown there is not much difference between having only 1mb of cache over 4mbcache. But if you really want to you can always get an E4400 for 2mb or E5500 for 4mb. But i dont thin kthe cost is worth it if your on a budget.

Thanks for the advice. I don't really know how to overclock, so maybe going for something with more power would be an idea

i didn't know how to overclock either until i bought my e2180. it is so cheap and such a good overclocker. there are some good guides and helpful members on this site to help you through the process.
