Recommend me screen recorder and video editing software for Xmas

My son wants to make YouTube videos and has asked for a screen recorder and video editor for Xmas. Given he's only 13 years old, is there any software out there which will do this and be fairly intuitive to use?

Easier and better quality to download youtoob videos directly Videodownload Helper addon for FF will work up to 720p and its free.

Does he want to make videos for YouTube ie capture PC gaming or capture videos which are already on Youtube ?

If its capture say PC gaming go for Open Broadcaster Software its free and is absolutely mint https://obsproject.com/index

If you want to make videos Windows Movie Maker will do the job but i use VideoReDo to edit my videos as it's so easy to use but it not free but worth every penny about £60 and then about £15 when a new upgrade version comes out ie V5 to V6

Yes sorry - it's to make and record videos to upload to YouTube. I'll edit the original post to clarify.

Go with Open Broadcaster Software to capture as it's easy to use plus only takes a few mins to get up and running and do your first capture

it's what i use when i do the odd video tutorial
