Recommend me some coop games please -xbox one

Hi,

I've got my son an Xbox one for christmas, he loves his 360 so it seems like the logical step. On his 360 he plays minecraft and the other clones of it, halo games, some star wars ones, the lego series.

So far on the Xbox one I've got him disney infinity 2.0/3.0

I would like to buy him some coop games that we can do together but i'm not up to date with the xbox one games. He's a wee lad (9), so no recommending 18's please ;)

Well while the XB360 was great for splitscreen multiplayer, the XB1 had gone backwards and there aren't as many titles (partly cos it's newer, but also cos local multiplayer is on it's way out). I believe there's Lego games on XB1, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare (and it's sequel), Disney Infinity, Call of Duty all have splitscreen, I'm surprised at the small choice there is. I'd suggest Star Wars Battlefront, but most folks don't like it (including myself), it gets boring fast and some of the modes online aren't very populated in multiplayer. Don't go for Halo 5, they got rid of split-screen with no plans to ever bring it back and it's not as good as even Halo 4, which was good fun if I say so myself. Halo Master Chief Collection could be an idea if one hasn't played all of those games before, I know that has splitscreen.
