Hi Everyone,

We are having a new kitchen next year, but also need everything which goes inside it :D

Not looking to spend £100 on a single set of spoons, but neither do I want cheap rubbish.

I'd love some recommendations please. Basically, we need everything as what we have is years and years old.

Thanks!!

A canteen of silver cutlery will set you back some thousands but be awesome; silver plated is far cheaper. Le Creuset cookware will last you generations.

With regards to plates etc. We got a set made by Canterbury Pottery all stoneware and remarkably reasonable price. Eight of goblets, plates, side plates, large bowls and small bowls would have been around £500 I think. But handmade to order and design. I'm sure other potters do similar. Whereas I looked at Denby and other china and it's a lot of money for a cookie cutter run of blandware.

Imo cutlery isn't about quality, it's about the shape. I picked up some cutlery from Sainsburys on the nectar double up. Plates and bowls, same story, they only get broken at some point anyway. Make sure to get round plates so they fit in the microwave! I like melamine plates, but can't stick them in the microwave. I also got some of the premium pots and pans on the double up, but at the end of the day non-stick stuff always seems to wear out.

One thing about pots/pans is the lack of wood or rubber handles. Having to use oven gloves just to lift a pot lid, major design flaw.

2nd the Mauviel recommendation.

The Mauviel M'Cook SS pans will last you a lifetime with no nasty coatings to fail and poison you.

I have these and they are fantastic:-

Mauviel M'Cook 3 Piece Saucepan Set with Lids – Borough Kitchen

Yeah one reason why i got away from most non-stick cookware.

I tried some budget stuff from sainsburys (pots) and even stainless steel ones started to give away their coating , hence pulled trigger on all Clad. I only have one non-stick pan,
