Hi all,

Something I've been wanting to do for a long time now and I'm going to start concentrating on getting around to it now is driving a really fast car around a track for a bit...

So does anyone here have any recommendations of what to go for?

I don't want to be sat with an instructor (I realise you may have to to begin with though) and I'm looking at the single seater experience at Silverstone (the closest I'll ever get to being like a Formula 1 driver I guess!) or driving a supercar, something like a Lamborghini. Something with speed and grunt basically...

Interested to hear your thoughts. I don't mind spending a few hundred quid but nothing daft like a grand.

£300ish would be about my absolute max, the lower the better of course.

Cheers.

I doubt you can get into a single seater without some sort of instructor training before hand in another car.. which isn't a bad thing as you'll get far more out of it driving them properly than what you think you can.

My brother has done one at Thruxton which he really enjoyed. It was a half day and have 4-5 cars, ending up with single seater.

Ok yeah I don't mind that as long as it's not under instruction for the entire duration.

I've heard reasonably good things about the Silverstone Single Seater experience. Over the winter they often have half price deals too.

For a little over £300 you could do a half day at palmersport which is fantastic and in a totally different league to other experience days.

Many other experience days are a real rip off with low rev limits, over zealous instructors/rules or just very little track time for your money.

100% agree with this. I got a supercar experience for my mums birthday a could have years ago, was just an oval track on a disused airfield and she only got to do 3 laps driving herself in a Ferarri 430. Cost about ~£90 I felt really ripped off to be honest.
