Recommend me some foreign films

I really quite liked Shinjuku Incident.

It's a drama/thriller following a group of Chinese trying to make thier way as illegal immigrants whilst once of them tries to find his ex-girlfriend, and also features a fairly rare case of Jackie Chan in a serious role without his usual slapstick, comedy or martial arts.

Some very well done scenes especially towards the end of the movie. Looks and sounds pretty good in Bluray too. It's one of the best 'World movies' I've seen recently. Main language is Chinese but there's an english dub too.


I also had fun with Storm Warriors. It's not amazing, and the 'gone to evil' slightly iffy subtitling can be a little annoying, but its not at all a bad action flick, in the switch your head off an enjoy the fighting and effects vein. Probably one of the most stylised of those sorts of movies I've seen recently and you could see there was a budget.

Dead Snow -Norwegian, Nazi zombies, lashings of black comedy
Rare Exports - Finnish movie with an interesting take on Santa Claus
The Kite Runner - Set in Afghanistan, very good drama
Un Prophete - French prison drama
The Trollhunter - Norwegian, Just great fun
The Chaser - Loved this Korean crime thriller
Cold Prey - Norwegian, Serial killer and a bunch of kids in abandoned hotel

Really enjoyed all of the above
