right I gave up playing games for a long time but now I have started again and since xmas I have completed crisis 1,2,3 - fear 1,2,3 -bf4-cod ghosts .

I loved fear and crisis and bf4 and cod but not really into online multiplayer so what other games have I missed that are similar that are worth a look .

Metro 2033 and Last Light. Epic apocalyptic games.
Far Cry 3.
Rage.
Black Mesa. The Half Life remake mod, it's really good.

hey thanks they look interesting was interested in the black mesa and had a look on steam but could not find it where is the best place to look as I own all half life games
 
Fallout 3.
black masa of course.... If you played half life you will love this.
And obviously Half life 2+ Episodes
outlast...pretty scary.
stalker...i know its old but still very good especially with mods.
im playing shadow warrior at the moment, but its sorta turning into a grind fest.
Oh and i just bought The Void of Steam for 79 pence.... bargain.:cool:

FP shooters are kind of dead in the water atm. Most are just sequel after sequel on same engine, best bet atm for gameplay is some kind of RPG or platform game.
 
Bioshock 1 / 2 / Infinite (2 is sorta optional, I enjoy it but quite a few think its a bit average)
Fallout 3 / New Vegas. (3 has issues with win 7, use mods to fix that and improve both)
It's not a FPS but my favourite single player from last year was the tomb raider reboot - it's fantastic.
 
I will second the stalker series. make sure you play it with the 'complete' mod if you want the vanilla experience since it improves everything but leaves the gameplay exactly the same.

I think you mean Shadow Warrior, HR basically had the color pallet of this forum. :p Still a good shooter though, OP should get both! Flying Hog deserve more love.
 
I read this thread during a quiet moment in work yesterday afternoon and was suitably intrigued by Singularity, it is an interesting title to say the least.
It is pretty much an on rails shooter yet it has just enough story depth to keep the game going, just enough attention to detail to make it all worthwhile.
I like the fact that is uses the ideas from F.E.A.R. & Bioshock in that the backstory is expanded through in game discoverables.
