Hi all,

Looking at a new build. Current plan is a 7800X3D on an Asus X650E-F but I'm at a loss with memory.

I'm new to DDR5 and the AM5 platform. I've generally stuck with G.Skill for my recent DDR4 builds and would like to continue this as a brand I trust so looking at their Trident Z5 lines.

I'm at a total loss with what speeds and timings would be best though. Looking for 32GB (so 2 x 16GB kit). Don't mind paying a bit more for decent stuff but not stupid money. Just don't know where the "sweet spot" is.

Thanks.

I was actually leaning towards this stuff:

Most sites seem to suggest 6000 is the sweet spot speed-wise with the lowest latency you can get.

Thanks for the link will have a watch.

I know there are plenty of other brands which are just as good as G.Skill, I just tend to stick with them as I like their design as much as anything.

I used to use Corsair almost exclusively back in the DDR3 days (got a drawer full of the damn stuff) but have gone off them in recent years.
