Recommend me some games quick - Wii

finish work in 30mins and im going to shoot to argos with me £100 voucher and get a few bits

im after a decent tennis game for the Wii, which one would you recommend?

also mario kart, yes or no? should i shouldnt i?

ive already had and completed mario galaxies and zelda

im mainly after some games that are just purely fun to play with 2 people, games i can play with the missus, as i know she liked the wii sports tennis so wondered if there was anything a little bit deeper but oh well

mario kart should be a good laugh though as ive always loved the past one :)

EDIT: just had a better idea, ill just get the second wiimote and mario kart today, then ill get the new SSB when its out with the remaining £££ :D

Played it with the gf, it was a bit dull.

Mario kart, brawl, wii sports and warioware all provided a much better 2 player experience.

Boom Blox really is the best party game of this generation and manages to be both surprisingly strategic (you'll form and break alliances, bribe and cheat :)) and super accessible - a winning combination. This weekend we had about 10 ppl round for a Wii session and everyone was engrossed in Boom Blox. No other games got a look in.

Like you said, I'd wait for this gem to be released. I'm planning on picking a Wii up shortly after it's release. :D
 
It's impossible to rate Boom Blox in such a short amount of time - there's plenty of gametypes and a good deal of depth to the multiplayer side. But hey, your loss ;)

The real beauty in Boom Blox is not only is it great fun for gamers - it's up there with Bomberman and Worms imo - but people who have no interest in video games can jump in and have a great time.
 
First impressions baby, first impressions..

Playing a game for 5 minutes tells me what I need to know.

Played it with about 6 people for 2-3 hours with people who loved wii sports, wario ware and kororinpa but we just found this uninspiring.
 
That does surprise me. Other than Wii sports, it's the most accessible game i've played. The girls seem to especially like it. When i've put on games like Kororinpa and Wario Ware in the past they tend to get a bit of attention for a few minutes, then the novelty wears off and ppl lose interest. Things like Smash Bros. and Mario Kart are very much gamers games and wouldn't go down well either.

The best thing about the Wii, imo, is being able to play games with non gamers. I've done 4 guys sitting in a room, wrestling with joypads and eating pizza, to death. Playing with ppl of all ages and both genders makes for such a nice change which is why Wii Sports and Boom Blox are the highlights of the system for me (and Lost Winds :) )
