hi all

I have not purchased a game for a fair few years now

Id like to get some more "newer" games
Dont want anything thats long as im currently playing through Oblivion and I have Fallout 3 to do as well and a few others

Just want a blast on a game

I am currently looking at Fortnite, Tekken 7, and Street Fighter (but not sure which one to get), GTA 5, Sleeping Dogs, not sure what else ?

Also -

Any games that you would recommend that uses a lot of power? as id like to test my system before i put a new Graphics card in

thanks

I have neither of these but they are recent titles: Prey or Dishonored 2. Not sure about how hard they work the system, though.

Edit: I don't believe they are very long campaigns but I expect there are shorter ones out there...

Shadow Warrior 2 is great fun and is pushing my graphics card as much as any of the other games recently. The new Tomb Raider games are also worth looking at - the later one also is demanding on the graphics and is one of the best looking games around. Also check out Bioshock Infinite if you missed it - amazing story and game.

Agreed about Bioshock Infinite. The revelation about the finger blew my mind! Great writing!

Isn't it. It's the only game I've played through more than twice - it's like one of those films that get better after multiple viewings; picking up bits you missed the first time around. That reminds me that I must play through the Buried at Sea DLCs again...

Could never really get into that one. Mind you, I've only played through the one campaign - but I did complete it, just.

just thought about some more

Deus Ex MD (which i have) / and the previous one
Overwatch
LawBreakers (just downloaded)
Doom (2016)

any others you recommend I play?

Sleeping dogs is worth getting. The definitive edition is on sale at the moment on steam. Well worth the price.

Nier: Automata is unmissable. Conceptually the most important game this generation and a totally unique work of art that's being overlooked by everyone except reviewers, probably because of the graphics and smaller budget. Worth playing for the soundtrack alone but there's so much more to it I don't want to spoil.

EDIT: And it will test your PC because it's not the most brilliant PC port:p

looks good actually

reminds me of Final Fantasy on the PSX

You said you don't want anything that's long, so Nier is out, but it's a good game. Not as good as Amatsubu says in pretty much every thread in this forum, but a corker. :)

If you're considering SFV, or Overwatch, then buy them both. Two of the finest examples of their respective genres.

Player Unknown Battlegrounds. It's a MP Battle Royale type game. I dismissed it at first, but my friends pressured me into getting it. I happily admit I were very wrong and now wish I had bought it sooner. Game is awesome!

We all have our favourites. Besides, I'm not saying it's the best game ever made and most reviews seem to agree with me that it's more than just good.

Funny how when people recommend the same more popular games everywhere on the forum it's all fine and dandy but when I recommend something less popular that is totally worth the time and is going under the radar, then it's suddenly all bad:p

And if three or four threads is every thread in the forum, then ok.

A quick search for your name and NieR suggests you've posted about it 21 times :)

I'd suggest DOOM for sure, it'll test your system and is a really great experience. It does a very good job of going back to how an old FPS should play. Or one of the latest Wolfenstein's as well. I've only just purchased these and DOOM during this sale, but from what I've played so far, they're all great games. DOOM has really surprised me at just how well it's done at bringing back the old DOOM feeling :)

Good to know as i loved Doom 1 and II, but completed 3 but didn't really enjoy it

Doom 2016 is a great option, and as for Doom 3, there are plenty of mods out there worth trying out; perhaps one to revisit later. :)

The shock, the horror! 21 posts since the game's release, some of which were in the game's official thread. Simply inexcusable. It's the first time I had my name stalked for the amount of times I recommended a specific game, this forum is getting pretty ridiculous:p

I better check how many times certain individuals mentioned other popular games and post about it, it's totally relevant to the thread.

Oh well, I'll recommend Bioshock Infinite then. A lot less braindead than Doom and has an actual plot (pretty good), great setting, is cheap and still looks nice.
