Recommend me some games

Hellblade is going cheap (£3.74!) for the next couple of days if anyone is interested but not picked it up yet:

possibly :

So I'm stuck in a rut again, every time I download a game I play it for an hour and just get bored.

I'm only really playing Forza horizon 5 at the minute,

I've done tomb raiders found them enjoyable, couldn't get into hell blade, hell divers wasn't good imo, Forza Motorsport just couldn't get in with the new layout and way of doing things it's almost like they changed everything for the sake of it.

Jedi survivor done was very enjoyable.

Tried immortal fenyx rising, got quite a way in, then I just hit a wall that didn't make sense what I was supposed to be doing / going, just got lost in constant side quests so got bored and binned it.

Assassin's creed was just Bore fest,

Played ori for quite a few hours and then realised the story just wasn't going anywhere so I lost interest in that aswell.

Star wars battlefront 1 & 2 was great

I'm paying for game pass each month, Xbox game pass is loads better than PC game pass.

Just can't see anything compelling to play

have you consider building games?
its a time sink if your not carefull
it seems your playing the same sort of game types? and maybe its the game type.
did you try :
factorio
dyson sphere program
Artificial Extinction - more tower defence than fps
or fortresscraft evolve?

Are you experiencing choice paralysis by using Game Pass ? Personally, I complete far more games when I just focus on one or two at a time ; too much choice just becomes a distraction. What genre of game do you think you enjoy ? What is it about FH5 that keeps you playing ? Reflecting on that may help inform what you should try next.

I don't think so, I normally only have a few games downloaded at a time, fh4 & 5 wreckfest and jedi survivor. Tomb raider and the others I've deleted. Usually I delete a game once completed to save room on the SSD.

I don't get to play games often, and when I do it's for 30-60 minutes at a time, so when I do, I need to make progress I say quickly but what I mean is it needs me to be able to pick it up and drop it in an instant.

I keep playing fh5 as it's easy to pick it up and drop it , same with fh4.etc.

Jedi survivor had a compelling storyline as did the tomb raiders and I enjoyed the star wars battlefront games for the same reason.

I've also got wreckfest which I've sunk a fair amount of time into for similar reasons to fh5.

I think they work as they are relatively easy games control wise and you can drop it and pick it up pretty easily and quickly.

My issue is I'm struggling to find games as per the above.

Referring to immortals fenyx rising (I bought this one), I got really into it, got so far as releasing the 1st god, then it just became obscenely boring, it didn't make sense what was next and there was no "mission" in the mission log, so I was just wondering around completing mini side quests trying to work out what I was supposed to do to move on, the whole thing just became a huge bore fest. I think assassin creed and immortals use the same engine as there was a lot about them that were very similar, and I got bored of assassin's creed for the same reasons.

Hell divers had no story, and due to the way the game is, it's hard to match up with teams of similar skill level or even find matches at all, and it just became utter dire.

I've gone game pass mostly for my boy but also I'm fed up of buying games and then regretting the decision.

I don't mind grinding through games but they need to keep me interested.

And I'm struggling to find more games akin to what I've already enjoyed as per above.

Some of it is to do with my ADHD, but not wholly

There was one game on the previous page, don't know if you tried it or not. But FTL Faster than Light is an amazing game. Don't be put off by it's graphics. It's so addictive. It's also quick to load and easy to play.

Have you considered VR at all? I was in the same funk as you a few years ago. Every game I tried to play I got bored of quickly. I seemed to have lost the ability to go through the trouble of learning the controls for any new games. To give you an idea of how bad it was for me, I bought The Witcher 3 and couldn't get into it. Thought it was just more of the same. I Had almost given up gaming completely. Then in 2016 the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive came out and I decided to buy the Oculus Rift. Thought I was making a big mistake. I had buyers remorse for weeks after the hitting the buy button!!

When the Headset arrived though, everything changed. When I got the touch controllers and played Robo Recall I was like hooked for life.

Not only did getting a VR headset make me start liking VR gaming, it also brought back my love of gaming in general. I went back and tried The Witcher 3 again and realised how wrong I was, It's one of the best games ever made.

Trying to find games that might get you out of this isn't the answer, the trick is to find something outside of your normal gaming that brings back your love of gaming. For me it was getting a VR headset, that might not be for you. But you get the idea.

Saying all that, I take it you have tried all the usual suspects gaming wise? Skyrim, Fallout, The Witcher 3, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Bioshock, Borderlands(especially Borderlands 2) etc?

I've done bioshock on the 360 and didn't like it, I tried fall out aswell and just couldn't get to grips with it. 1st person I can't get to grips with, kinda feel sick trying to play them, which is weird cos in racing games that's the mode I like.

3rd person works with me, hence battlefront, tomb raider etc.

I've not done Witcher 3, I've steered clear due to the length of time required, feared it might be a bit like dragon age origins where it's really slow and massive, requiring far too much thought and effort.

It might well be the lack of time I have is what's makiyit so difficult to get into a lot of these

I'm enjoying this free to play kart racer, I think partly because each of the three rounds (if I qualify outside last 20 each round) take approx 2mins30secs.

Few different kart classes with different strengths, upgrades really help to get towards pointy end of most races.

Stacking different boosts to produce a purple flame from your kart's exhaust gives fastest boost.
