Hi.

I'm building a new system, and i have bought a GA-P35-DS3L motherboard.

I would like 2x2GB sticks for my new build, but i cannot decide which.

I will be using windows vista, and using my pc mainly for gaming, music, and the internet.

Any ideas?

The reason was so it would be upgradable to 8gb without having to ditch some components.
If you dont mind explaining, why is 4x1gb superior, i am interested thats all!

Well unless your doing some highly intensive encoding and designing then you wont need 8gb for a long time and by then DDR3 will be main streme.

The reason 4x1 gb is superior is because it will overclock much like 2x1 gb would. 2x2gb will not overclock at all really. 4x1gb is a lot cheaper as well.

4x1 gb of crucial balistix 5300 will cost you 120 quid delivered. It will overclock from 677mhz to 1000mhz and even up to 1200mhz.

But that ram dies a lot. Id suggest either 4x1gb of OCZ 6400 which will overclock up to 950mhz or 4x1gb of geil 6400 which will overclock much the same. Both these will cost you under 100quid for 4gb delivered and are a bargin.

Of corse the difference in a game between 800mhz and 1200mhz is next to nothing. Infact it probably is nothing unless your looking at the few extra frames per second. So really get 4x1 purely because its cheaper.

Dont waste ya money mate.
