Anyway here is a sample of the artists I like-

Rap- Gym Class Heroes, Jedi Mind Tricks, The Roots, Sage Francis.

Rock etc.- Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, The Shins, Elliott Smith, Hot Hot Heat.
