Hey there

I am looking to play some more PC RPG's as I have just bought Mass Effect and am enjoying it and wondering what other really good PC RPG's are out there? I already know of Oblivion and Morrowind so are there any other must-play RPG's out there that have a (somewhat) free roaming world but you can explore and stuff?

Thanks for your help and time.

The Witcher is the most obvious one that springs to mind, I'd love to play morrowind again but for some crappy reason it won't let me play it on vista.

The Witcher is based off one of BioWare's older Aurora engines and is just as good as ME imo. The Enhanced Edition DLC has been overdue for a month now though, I would really suggest you'd wait until you hear more word on its release.

Do I need to play the KotOR games in order to understand them? Also, does anyone have an idea of how I could run The Witcher on the system in my signature?

oblivion
mass effect
kotors
the witcher
stalker (fps rpg kinda)
Loads of older good rpgs not sure if that's what you want though

Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 plus expansions
Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 plus expansions

Assuming you haven't played them of course in which case go and get them NOW.

Absolutely hated the combat system in The Witcher, was dire. Far too easy and far too ****.

Other than that seemed playable.

Can't think of many recent RPG games, BGII is always worth a play through as in NWN. Kotor is a no brainer.

Keep an eye on Dragon Age, most info is on Bioware forums.

as well as what everyone else has said..

Jade Empire (bit like an oriental kotr)

Arcanum of Steamworks Magick Obscura
Planescape Torment
Fallout 1,2

Well I ws thinking that, but apparently it is not out untill September, and you can pick the original up for just under £10 now from 2 different locations, one being a super market, and the download all the new content when it comes out.
