Been craving for a decent RTS game any recommendations? I miss the good old C&C days and just about to try Age of Empires 4.
 
Not sure if you're into more realistic RTS games but I've just started playing some older ones. Namely Steel Division Normandy 44 and Wargame Red Dragon.

Very in depth and tactics are a must. UI (especially in wargame) is a bit antiquated but the gameplay is good.
 
I'm still playing Age of Mythology even after all these years.
Tried AOE4 over the weekend as it was free to play. It's good but doesn't bring anything new to the table.
 
Not recent I know but I absolutely loved Commandos 2 and think the art style is timeless. I'm going to reinstall it actually.

- just checked and Commandos 2 (and 3) have received a HD Remaster :)

strategy game's

I wanting a new strategy game to play. I've played C&C to death and Ashes is getting boring. i just got Company of Heroes 3 free with a CPU but i dont know if it my type of game. i like Skirmish type rounds that's take a few hours not weeks. i own total war and one of the war hammers.

I've watched a little of CoH3 on YouTube but it doesn't come close to it's last offerings, it's more about the multi-player than the single player.

Have done and you can't go back to vanilla after that mod, it's not the same ever again. World in Conflict wasn't a bad game and spent many hours on that.

Men of War: Assault Squad 2 War Chest Edition around £6 on cdkeys.




World In Conflict Complete Edition around £8 on GOG


 
Not quite an RTS but check out The Riftbreaker, I had hours of fun building bases and destroying waves of enemies.

I think world in conflict is free on epic gamestore or maybe ubisoft, but you can't play online, only the campaign. It was a really good game back in the day had tonnes of fun with it, but is very old now (2007).

I can also recommend Riftbreaker. Starship Troopers is also worth a look.

I wish we could get a new command and conquer or Generals reboot in UE5
