Not being funny but I dont know what people see in Kearney. Those mixes are utter gash.
 
I love Kearney, his work is mostly very hard and fast; how trance should be. Punchline is superb, more to life is superb, rotterdam remix is superb, there is a sample of 'Upended' on his myspace which sounds outstanding and i simply can't stop listening to the Kleerup remix. (The omission of exactly was deliberate!)

Granted the tracks i linked to sound a little rough round the edges but that will be because they were never going to get a release and probably haven't been mastered

Nah, the Kearney/Discover sound is stale and bland, I'm so sick of it :(
 
I like the odd anjuna, but I don't go by label, I go be individual tune.

The most consistent label for me based on my purchases would be Euphonic funnily enough.

All the Askew/Kearney/Downey/Tyas stuff sounds the same. Yes, they are faster and energetic, but aren't memorable.

The only 2 Discover tracks I like of The Emerald and Distance :(

Whatever really. I used to be into this about 7/8 years ago, but only really because a friend used to say "listen to this".

I remember liking some of BTs stuff ('dreaming' comes to mind, especially the Tiesto and Libra remix)

Can you recommend me some popular trance tracks for me to make a playlist of?

I love Stoneface & Terminal so i'll give you the comment on Euphonic (not to mention everyone's favourite euphonic track - megashira ;))

Tyas pulls out the odd corker but 90% of his stuff, remixes especially are just hard kick with extra percussion, very samey. Similar thing for Askew, on the other hand i love almost everything by Kearney and Downey. Paul Miller looks like a promising producer and i quite like Colontonio as well

Yeah, I think I am just showing my age with trance, I much prefer the slower end of the scale these days, as I have been rinsing the energetic uplifting stuff since it's heyday in 1998, lol

Nothing touches Flutlicht for energy, riffs, and unique sound, I was gutted when they split up :(

I have stages where i have overlistened to trance - thats why i leave it for weeks / months at a
time then come back to uplifting / epic :D

Nothing better than listenin to some ASOT's on a nice summer day with your mates. Perfect soundtracks to the summer imo.

My trance calendar for the rest of the year consists of Judgement Sunday closing @ Eden, Tiesto closing @ Privilidge, Cream closing @ Amnesia and then just looks like Goodgreef's 8th Birthday with Eddie H, Guiseppe Ottaviani, John O'Callaghan, Greg Downey and a very very special guest they claim (although i'm not holding out for much).

I vote we have an OCUK trance meet at Goodgreef 8th Birthday @ Warehouse Project, Manchester!
