The Shield, great police programme from America. Pretty dark and intense with lots of overlapping stories. Never a boring episode. Not funny, but easily the best police programme made.
Californication, staring David Duvonchy is an American comedy drama centring around a troubled novelist in California. It's chuffing brilliant, easily in my top 3 programmes (alongside House and Spartacus: Blood and Sand).

Another vote for The Shield, finished watching the last episode last night (7 series), enjoyed every minute.
Also The Wire was up there too, my favourite though was Dexter, amazing.

La Law, The Equalizer.

Two shows forgoten by most, the first has a warm comedic value, the later is a well paced drama, staring the sadly now departed Edward Woodward in a exelent lead role.... loved by many in the 80's when it was first shown.

dear god how is the wire not on your already seen list :P

It takes a while to get into it as it throws a lot of different characters and storylines at you, but once you are its most probably the best thing ever shown on TV (IMO).

Sorry if these are on your list already, but just in case:

Dexter - Police/Investigation Drama. Based on Dexter, a blood spatter analyst working for the Miami police. Dexter is also a serial killer. My favourite show ever. Each episode leaves you wanting more. a MUST watch!

Lie to Me - Police/Investigation Drama. Cal Lightman runs a business called the Lightman Group. Cal is able to read peoples faces to see if they're lieing or not. Starts out pretty good and gets better and better as it goes along. Only let down by the fact each episode is fairly forumalaic with each episode being almost a self contained story. There is a larger scope to the overall show but it's not that deep if y'get me?

Homicide: Life on the Street.

Many writers and directors who worked on The Wire also wroked on Homicide:LOTS. It's well written, the characters are complex and engrossing, funny and always very watchable. In my book, as cop shows go, it's second only to The Wire.

It also had a great cast and some of the guest stars were brilliant. I particularly like an episode starring Vincent D'Onofrio (a.k.a. Pvt. Pyle). I could go on but I think all I need to say is, Homicide: Life on the Street is brilliant.

Police Squad?

To this day, I still don't understand how that show got cancelled.

Summer Heights High.

Seriously, you HAVE to watch this comedy, if you like the inbetweeners you'll definitely like this. It's an Aussie comedy which is why most people haven't heard of it, but it's pure genius.

Enjoy :)
