Hi,

Well due to having problems with Folding@Home (nothing will download, looked in all the forums, etc.) I decided to Boinc (superb bit of software as it does everything I want straight away using all cores and no hard config).

Anyway I decided to try Spinhenge and SETI just to test and see how it works on my cores and all has gone superbly.

Now I'd like to concentrate on something useful. I really like the idea of Folding and would love to dedicate my Cores to medical research particularly those looking at cancer cures.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,

M.

If you're set on having a Boinc there should be a Pumpkinstew post round here somewhere with a list of projects - or maybe check the Boinc sticky?

Edit: ok so the sticky is pretty outdated in terms of projects - maybe these will help...

...or as Mr. Stew advised himself there's a pretty comprehensive list of all the boinc projects here - http://boincstats.com/

ROSETTA@HOME is similar to folding on the boinc project, protein stuff.

however i'd recommend you continue to look for green men, we even have our own weekly stats and everything.

Thanks for the replies.

I was on about the servers being down, I didn't want my PC's sat there doing nothing.

I'll look into Rosetta, I have in total 6 cores over two machines so I'm using 1 for SETI, 1 for Spinhenge, 2 for Rosetta and the other 2 (all being well) for FAH.

I think that gives me a good coverage.
