Need some new RAM, 16GB of it
Anyone know what this stuff is like and if it is compatible with my motherboard?

Some peeps are running it 8-8-8-24-1t 1.6V, using it my self Corsair Vengeance 12GB (3x4GB) at default 9-9-9-24-1t > CPU i7920 at 4.2GHz no problems at all.

I'd say go with what OLDPHART linked or

Kingston HX Genesis Grey 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel

Both are cheaper alternatives (would work out £30 cheaper) to the Ballistix with all 3 sharing the same stock speeds and I doubt you'll be able to see the LEDs on those very well.

Oh but the LED's look so good and the software that it uses also looks easy to use. Any 1866 with a latency of 8-8-8-24 (or 27?)

Edit: I take that back, this stuff looks amazing for overclocking and supposedly runs cool as well

I would go for the Samsung stuff, it overclocks really well. I myself am planning on Putting 16Gb of the stuff in my upcoming build.

If you look at the specs N/B CHIPSET >

Asus P7P55D-E > Intel P55 Express Chipset for Intel LGA 1156 CP

Samsung Green 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz specs N/B CHIPSET > INTEL P67, Z68, Z77, X79 & AMD Chipsets > does not support Intel P55 Express Chipset.

EDIT: I thought it said it didn't support P55, but it looks like it doesn't include it? As it's DDR3 I'd be surprised if it didn't work. Am trying to find more info from Samsungs site.

Sad face I was getting so excited as well about how much faster my computer will run

Ah well thanks for the effort guys that is why I come to OCUK forum as the info is always accurate and trusted. Any other suggestions?

TBH, I'd ask Overclockers - ring/customer services section/webnote - if they could test it/clarify. I'd be surprised if it didn't work as it's still DDR3, I *think* they've just not included it on the list as it's an old generation chipset. I may be wrong!
