Hi,

I've just bought a Benq XL2420TX, basically 120hz, 3D etc etc.

My current system is
Core2 Q6600
4gb Ram
Crucial SSD drive
ATI 4850 HD GFX

I feel I need to upgrade the GFX card now, I don't need Ultra high settings on the latest games.

So for £100 approx i'm looking at 6850 or GTX460. Will either of these compliment the rest of my system, Is there going to be a bottle neck?

your advice please.

btw I play Quake live a lot and would like to play the Uncharted series.

thanks

6850 is a great card but I don't think it works with monitor for 3D. OP would need to go nVidia for this requirement.

GTX 460 is a good choice in your price range for all your requirements.

You aren't really going to pull off the FPS required for 3D with either of those cards tbh and the 6850 is the cheaper of the two. *shrug*

You could with settings turned down.

I had a 6870 previously and on high settings on BF3 with MSAA off I pulled around 40-70 FPS. Turn that down to medium and you could get workable FPS while 3D gaming. 6850 isn't too far behind 6870 either.

Granted - it's going to be far from ideal but good for the OP to get a feel of 3D gaming. Plus if the OP plays worse games graphically than BF3 he's going to be fine with a 460.
