Hi

Looking to upgrade my 5 year old Q6600 machine. Not kept up with the overclocking scene for a few years since I stopped PC gaming so looking for some current expert knowledge!

Just need the mobo, CPU and RAM. Must be Intel. Looking to run Windows 7 64-bit with multiple virtual machines for Server 2008 and other OS/app testing. Don't need gaming gfx.

Thanks Gav. Deffo will go with the i7-3770k for the virtual threads. What sort of freq can you achieve on this CPU with stock HSF? Read some bad reviews on the MSI Z77A-G43 as far as overclocking capability?
 
So I'm thinking of going for the i5-3570K instead and use the money saved for better cooling and a new pc case. What do you think?
