The only ones I have really played are Broken sword series. Which was great.

NOw recommended ones I have heard off:

Syberia 1+2
The longest journey
Grim Fandango
Monkey Island series?
Secret files: Tunguska

Fahrenheit/indigo prophecy I have played also..like 50% until the railyard level.


As of 2011 what is worth still playing?
 
Monkey Island 1,2,3 and Tales of Monkey Island are all worth a go. Ignore 4 though (Escape from Monkey Island).

Grim Fandango isn't point and Click, but is definately something you should play.
 
Monkey Island 1-3, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max Hit the Road, Ben There Dan That and Time Gentlemen Please! Should keep you going for a while. Grim Fandango is excellent but unfortunately the interface is awful, save it till you've been through the point n clicks.

It's an adventure game, just not point and click as such. The general principle and objectives are the same, just not the control method.

Anything in the thread Neil posted is good really. :p

Disagree entirely. Imo, it is the greatest Adventure game with regards to story and humour. As story and not gameplay are key to the genre, I'd say the slightly dodgy controls couldn't put me off playing it no matter how bad they were.

Besides, it's so good, it beat Half Life and StarCraft to be the 1998 GoTY in Gamespot's eyes. :p
