Recommend: Software to make decent slideshow video from pics

Hey there,

Been asked to take a wad of photos and turn them into a decent looking slideshow - talking a good few hundred pics and they want the slide show to be just under an hour.

Just wondering what people would recommend for something like that if they have done it before.

Irfanview, have you tried that? You can set to random display of pics, ordered, change on timer, on button press. Select Slideshow from the File menu to access the functionality.

Faststone Image Viewer will make a slideshow from a bunch of pictures and pack it all into a handy .exe file. Nothing fancy in the presentation, just the photos with optional transition effects, audio and simple captions. You can choose a random order for the photos though.

Thanks for the suggestions but its to end up on a DVD and look "fancy" as they put it
