I want to watch a bit more US comedy, need some suggestions

Currently up to date with and rate highly most of the following:

Californication
Big Bang Theory
How I Met Your Mother
New Girl
House Of Lies
Community (only mid way through S1)

After anything that's currently airing or started in the last 2/3 years with a similar feel to any of the 6 above.

I don't like Two & Half Men, Scrubs or Arrested Development which always get recommended to me.

I've previously loved Friends & My Name Is Earl.

Would prefer if you don't just hit me with lists, maybe give me a rundown on your suggestions and why I would like them based on what I already like.

Currently enjoying Whitney and 2 Broke Girls - Both written by Whitney Cummings who is a very cynical and sarcastic but very funny woman with an almost male sense of humour and it helps that there's, unsurprisingly, some hot women in both shows.

However Whitney gets panned constantly by critics so maybe "borrow" an episode from the web 1st before hand.

Parks and Recreation - Done in the same fashion as Office (US), following a bunch of low-level government workers each with their own quirks. It has some very funny moments mixed into a funny show.

Louie - Written, directed and staring a middle-aged pot-bellied low-achieving man who is hands down the best comedian currently working. A very very funny show. If you go for any, go for this.

Archer - Cartoon based on a James Bond type character, except he's a raging alcoholic and womanizer. Very rude, very funny.

Bored to Death - I enjoyed this mainly because it's got Ted Danson playing a role very unsimillar to previous roles. It also has that zack galifaniakakasaisiaas before he got hangover famous.

Eastbound and Down - Not to everyone's, taste, it follows a very arrogant, narciscistic self-absorbed redneck hill-billy who drank and snorted his way rather ungracefully out of major league baseball. He however, doesn't seem to be able to accept he is no longer the loved star he used to be.

Why will you like them? Well you might not, except I watch and love all the comedies you've listed except House of Lies, which I am probably going to start watching myself!

There are obviously a lot more comedies but you wanted currently airing/last few years so this'll have to do I suppose.

edit- party down will be very worth watching too!

I can back the Parks and Rec suggestion, I would also possibly suggest 3rd Rock from the Sun for a slightly older one with some Sci-fi elements (iirc the box set is fairly cheap).

No Curb your Enthusiasm reccomendations?

Its not the same style of comedy as the shows you've listed but I used to be hooked on that show, warning if you get it on dvd don't overdo it as you will get burnt out like me.

Yeah, not sure how I forgot that one really. Curb FTW! May as well get Seinfeld too though!

At risk of people hating me...

The American Office?

I quite enjoy it, it isn't comparable the the English version, but as long as you go in open minded and think of it as something new, i quite enjoy it. Only problem is the 50 million episodes per season.

Curb +1 too

It's a different show basically. First couple of season are a bit mimmicky but then it becomes its own man and is super funny. Steve Carrel makes the show, so funny for many seasons. It's been a bit naff since he left though.

Definitely check this out, my favourite show of the last few years, Ron Swanson is a fantastic character, great cast all round and just a really
warm and funny show.
