Just got psychonauts earlier this week and have to say its a great game and would recomend it to anyone. Been plying the xbox version and the graphics are quite good, the level design is very good and the humour in the scrip is excellent.

It's definitely a great game, full of the spirit of Schafer's old Lucasarts adventures - the opening theme music and the font the credits were in was very reminiscent of Day of the Tentacle.

It's not without faults, though - it can be very frustrating and just outright annoying as often as it is astoundingly inventive and clever. IMHO it's at its best when it's being a puzzler rather than a platformer.

Had a brief 30 min play on Psychonauts. I wasn't overly impressed. It seems a bit old fashioned - long FMVs, pointless jumping around, collecting icons. If this had been released 5-10 years ago it would probably be very highly regarded.

Perhaps I'm missing something though.

I think its great, the voice acting and fmv are worthy of a hollywood movie in places. Its got lots of variety, and just looks great.

Iv heard little of this game tbh.
Wouldnt be anything like Grim Fandango or Monkey Island?

Nah, it's a platform game with elements of adventure game (from the mind of Tim Schafer, who made Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango) - lots of puzzles etc. The thing about it that makes it great is the ideas that they've managed to put in. The levels are essentially made up of peoples' issues, for example (and without giving much away) there's a guy obsessed with a conspiracy and the world inside his head is a normal neighbourhood, but with spies and secret agents everywhere...

I think I'm nearly at the end now and I must admit I've been mightily ****** off at a couple of points, but I'm always willing to forgive it when it slaps me round the face with another slice of its gaming genius ;)

Ah i see, doesnt have any of the talking elements of Grim F? Or the longevity?
Or the indepth play?

Iv been dying for games as fun and indepth as Monkey Island or Grim Fandango for sooooo long

Has it been released here yet? I know at first there was no european release planned but they have since remembered that us Europeans have computers too. Can't remember what the euro release date was.
