Recommendation for a CPU Fan

I have an AMD 1090t @ 3.2ghz with stock cooler.

I want to get to around 4ghz+ and am willing to spend £30-50 on a good CPU cooler, i can have either water or air but i would perfer air.

the thermalright silver arrow is the best air cooler on the market today (never mind its price, its the best there is, tied with the much more expensive noctua NH-D14)

You have quite a choice up to £50 - below is list from £20 to £50:

Coolermaster Hyper 212
Gelid Tranquillo
A50
AKASA Freedom tower
Thermalright Silver Arrow

Best bang for buck is probably the Hyper 212, my personal 'best all rounder' is the Gelid at £25 (great cooler) but if you want excellent cooling with silent running then the Silver arrow is the way to go.

4.6-4.8Ghz should be no problem atall. any more will be down to the chip itself

ye i did, lol soz for the fail, to say tht just got a HAF x case which should also help with the temps

as long as you dont have tall ram heatspreaders like the Gskill ripjaw or the corsair vengance then the silver arrow will fit just fine

(corsair vengance low profile is ok though)

That should prove to be a very efficient combo (Haf X and a SA) - i doubt you'll be disappointed.
