Recommendation for setting up a wireless access point - Same SSID?

So I'm setting up a Wireless Access point in my garage to give an outdoor (wireless) camera a good wireless signal.

Any recommendations as regards SSID and channels?

I suspect it makes sense to simply call the new AP the same name as my indoor channel just with "_EXT" on the end of it? And if I ensure it's on a different channel number? I seem to see 1/6/11 listed as the channels to use? eg: My indoor one is on 11, and the outdoor ("_ext") one is on 1 or 6?

Note: The new AP is connected to the existing router via a homeplug, not via wireless.

If you use the same SSID and security key as your main wireless then you have a better chance of your devices roaming between them (if that's something you'd like to happen).

Do stick to channels 1, 6 and 11.

You can have a look at WiFi Analyser on Android to see what channels are nearby
