no gaming, just HTPC

I've preferred Nvidia decoding in the past

would I be right in thinking best option would be a 8400GS ? I'm looking for one that is VP3 compatible ?

and I've read only hte G98 based 8400GS's (newer ones) are VP3 compatible - so how do I guarantee getting one of these varients please ?
