Spent the last few months putting off getting a panel, but after seeing some recent zero dead pixel policies... Ive got nothing to lose!!

Did like the widescreens, however, I dont want to jeopardise gaming performance for a wider perspective... so I want to get the "BEST" 19" for the money.. with a budget of around £300 +- a few quid if necessary.

My shortlist:

Samsung SM940BF (2ms 700:1)
Samsung SM960BF (4ms 700:1)
Samsung SM970P (6ms but 1000:1)

Viewsonic VX922
Viewsonic VX924

Was also considering this PVA panel: SyncMaster 770P

But after seeing the ghosting images... I was slightly put off.. would the 970p be any better, despite having same 6ms?

Would consider other brands.. however these 2 seem to have a good zero dead pixel policy, that I know of...

Any advice would be great.. cheers

I have a vx922 and would thouroughly recommend it. However from what ive heard it is pretty much identical to the vx924 so you could try for that as it may save you a bit of money.

I can recormend the Acer 19" AL1916W Widescreen for £170 with confidence i have 2 of these and they run perfectly well. 8ms response time & no noticable "ghosting" in games like BF2

i would recommend the 924 viewsonic, just about to list mine on ebay ;) barely used the thing, i bought two monitors and have been told by the parents i need to sell it to save for University  so yeah, only had it like couple weeks max and it wasnt used all the time tilll i got a dual DVI card... however, when i did use it, onbelievable colour and no ghosting, really makes you wonder why we use CRTS lol :p

so get one of them ! or mine ;) heh

Went a bit MAD and got the NEC GX2.. so much for my £300 budget!!!! Read lots of good reviews, and thought that it wouldbe a long time before I got anotnher 1, so I may as well get the best I can at the time!!!

Should be here today...:-)
