Recommendations for a 24 - 70 (Canon)

I'm looking for a 24 - 70mm lens for my 70d

The Canon f/2.8 version is just too expensive but the Sigma version looks ok..

I was wondering if anyone has this lens and would recommend it over the Cannon or Tamron versions?

Being an APS-C lens, does this means it is 24-70 or it's actually 38 to 112mm

I quite like the idea of having a wide to the lower end zoom range for general walk around...

I understand the effect of the crop.

tbh, I've had 2 tamron lenses now and both have failed at some point.


One lens i have been recommend is the Canon 24‑70mm f4 L IS USM with Cashback

although not as fast as the 2.8L it's still a decent quality lens over the tamron equivalent.
