Recommendations for a case to water cool

Im in the process of getting a hold of a new water cooling setup and basically im looking for a case that i can either just cut two 120mm holes in the top to fit a 240mm rad. Im not looking for a case that will take lots of work as i dont have the time anymore to hack and slash.

What is important to me is that the case looks good, is light (aluminum) and is nice and roomy. As for budget im trying not to go over £140.

What case would you guys recommend, iv had my eye on the Eclipse 62, 3D aroura and a few others, however baring in mind that iv got a X1900XT and two HD's i dont think the 3D aroura is adaquate (plus poor input ventilation) and nor do i think the Eclipse 62 is the right case due to it being a bit short.

The aurara would be good as it has the dual back fans so it will be a doddle to mount the rad there. Where dya get the idea that the front ventilation isnt very good? - I havent heard that complaint before.

When you say the Eclipse is short, I presume you mean in height not depth ;)
I imagine you could fit 120.2 rad in the top if you don't use the top dvd drive slot.

Yes, there is a problem with bigger radiators in the Eclipse - the PSU actually sits in a very bad place. The optimum water cooling case in my opinion is the Lian-Li V1200 as that is very long and takes a 360mmx120mm rad no problem. With the PSU in the bottom the top of the case is unobstructed and there is also a funky little space where you can take out a drive cage for the pump and reservoir to live in.

I did see a case-side rad (might have been Innovatek) that bolted onto the outside of the side panel of the case. It was enormous and allowed passive cooling of the CPU/graphics/NB etc. That would work extremely well in an Eclipse.

[Edit]Alphacool Passive 642 Retail Uni Water Cooling Kit or Innovatek Passiv XxK are the ones I was thinking of[/Edit]

i found the review on customPC mag website. Also looking at the XbitLabs review of the case the HD temp is rather high compared to a thermaltake shark.

As for eclipse being short i did indeed mean in height, i was tempted to call it short and stumpy :p

i was also looking at some Lian Li cases but im not to keen on the 80mm fan holes found in many of the full tower cases which id consider more suitable for water cooling.

Marci @ competitors has used V2000+ where 120.3 rad is situated in the bottom with one of the HDD racks removed + PSU and Pump at top of the lower compartment.
His advice is that that is the best placement for a rad in v2000 rather than up top due to heat convection/separate compartments and inverted mobo placement.

Get an original Coolermaster Stacker... If you can find one, it seems OcUK have stopped stocking them now?

i think coolermaster must have stopped producing them  despite them being preferred by the overclocker over the paper thin 830.

I have heard Thermaltakes Shark is a good water cooling case. In fact parts of the design seem to based around water cooling.

Yeah some of the thermaltake's are pretty big and should be able to hold everything...one of their cases even comes with a watercooling kit in built with a rad on the side panel.

Depends what you will try to fit in it really.

Lian Li G70 covers all potential systems though. :)

the lian li g70 looks a bit boring im my opinion. Is there any other case that are recommended apart from the ones already stated
